Temporal's $550M Round Tops the Week's Largest US Startup Financings
Details
A quieter week after a run of mega-rounds
Crunchbase's weekly ranking of the ten largest U.S. startup financings shows a market that had just come off several billion-dollar-plus rounds and then stepped down a digit. The top deal of the week was $550 million for Temporal Technologies, an AI infrastructure company. By the standards of the preceding weeks it was a mid-sized cheque; by any longer view it remains a very large private round.
Hard tech leads the leaderboard
Alongside AI infrastructure, the week's biggest rounds went to space tech and investment management, according to Crunchbase. The composition matters as much as the totals: capital is concentrating in layers that other companies build on — compute, data and financial tooling — rather than in consumer-facing applications.
What it signals
For AI founders, the read is that infrastructure still clears the bar that many application rounds now struggle to reach. Because the series tracks U.S. rounds only, large European and Asian financings — including Mistral's €3 billion Series D — do not appear in the totals, which makes the weekly chart a partial view of global venture activity in AI.
